Loving People To a Mature Walk with Christ

Worship

Man has been worshipping God for centuries with music. We learn Scripture through music, we minister to others through music, and we are comforted by music.

We worship God for who He is. Not because He needs it, but because He deserves all honor, praise, and glory! we believe in active worship! This means we are not to be entertained, but to give of ourselves during our time of assembly. God expects all of us to give back to Him and worship in spirit and in truth. We want to create an environment that ushers us into God's presence every time the body assembles. Music is a way for the church to praise Him coroporately. There is a time of refreshing and renewal as the church offers praise to God. Our worship is more than singing hymns and songs; it includes our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Worship is nothing less than obedience to the command of God: ‘Delight yourself in the LORD’! (Psalm 37:4)…Worship is a way of gladly reflecting back to God the radiance of His worth. It is not a mere act of will power by which we perform outward acts. Without the engagement of the heart, we do not really worship. The engagement of the heart in worship is the coming alive of the feelings and emotions and affections of the heart. Where feelings for God are dead, worship is dead... Strong affections for God rooted in truth are the bone and marrow of biblical worship...It follows that forms of worship should provide two things: channels for the mind to apprehend the truth of God’s reality and channels for the heart to respond to the beauty of that truth—that is, forms to ignite the affections with biblical truth and forms to express the affections with biblical passion.
