BASIC Orlando - Inner-City Mission
What is BASIC?
BASIC is an acronym that stands for: Believing And Serving In Christ. First Christian Church Of Winter Park pakages food and cloths and goes to downtown Orlando the 2nd Sunday of every month at 4:30PM. BASIC is an inner-city mission that seeks to reach the urban areas of Orlando with the Gospel of Christ. Why have an inner-city mission in Orlando? Every night there are between four and six thousand homeless people in the metropolitan area. These people are involved in a lifestyle that seeks to drag them away from God.
Many of the people on the streets fight addiction or have mental trouble. They need Jesus to forgive them of their sins. BASIC connects the homeless disciple of Jesus with other disciples who can encourage them, and help the homeless fulfill God's role for their life. What is BASIC's mission? BASIC is a restoration and education-centered organization. It seeks to restore the homeless to society by providing guidance in Christian lifestyle. It also seeks to educate interested parties in the spiritual and physical needs of the urban homeless.

- Begin praying for workers to come for the great harvest God has planned for urban Orlando.
- Volunteer opportunities are available for youth and other groups who want to assist in carrying out BASIC Orlando's mission.
- As an individual you can volunteer to help BASIC anytime and for any length of time-whether it is helping with ministry or with organizing supplies. If jesus could take two fish and five loaves and feed the thousands, imagine what He can do with your time and effort in the city!
